Dazai was a Literature Major in college, nothing surprising there considering he had more books in his house than he had space for.

So when a new bookshop—Illuminations Bookshop was the name of the place—opened, he was overjoyed he had a new outlet of buying books, since he was a broke college student, and the lady working at the library was sick of his constant whining to let him purchase one of the library’s books.

But, to Dazai’s displeasure, the bookstore was busy. Overwhelmingly busy. The busiest he’d ever seen it. He’d been here a few times, enough to get to know the owners, and have them place a hold on one of their limited editions for him to pick up later.

He waited until the store was empty, and walked up casually, and saw that there was a new, seemingly around his age, employee standing behind the counter, leaning against it, phone in hand. They didn’t even bother took look up from their phone! Dazai furrowed his brow, he wasn’t going to give up, books were the one thing he didn’t give up about. So he cleared his throat. Loudly.
