Mike was never one of those sappy men who fell in love at first sight like every man in those shitty romance novels his friends used to talk about. It was a habit, because of his family, he believed love had to be created, mutual between two people who actually wanted that relationship and he stood by that virtue for most of his life.. or well, until he boarded the train that lead to Paradise City of course.
It was a bit loud, louder than Mike originally expected. He glanced around at the new faces, taking a respective note for every face he saw. A girl he actually recognized who had a warm smile with two toned purple and black hair, a blond boy with sunglasses and a look on his face that made it clear he didn't want to be here, and another girl with sandy blonde hair with a red scarf around her neck, those three stuck out to him the most.
It was a bit rude to admit, but he didn't have the genuine interest in everyone else. His casual, practiced nonchalant smirk remained on his face as he walked past the smaller crowd at the front and strutted over to the two toned haired girl with a smug grin on his face, the distance closing between them with a few long strides. The girl, known as Greyleigh, immediately recognized him and smiled, words tumbling out of her mouth like a waterfall, clearly overjoyed to see someone she knew.
Mike laughed and began to chat with Greyleigh, the sandy blonde haired gal, who introduced herself as Meagon, also joined the conversation! The grumpy blonde boy also slightly gravitated towards the trio, but didn't say much. Mike shook it off and kept chatting with Greyleigh, the girl ranting about some of her adventures to Mike which she assumed he was listening, but he really wasn't.
Mike's eyes zeroed in on this brunet boy with a red bandana tied around his neck that stood at the edge of the large group, the sight of his freckled skin made Mike's heart skip a few beats for reasons he honestly didn't want to acknowledge. Yet, he couldn't actually bring himself to tear his eyes off of the boy...
"Hey, Mike, you okay??"
Greyleigh interrupted Mike's thoughts with a single question that, for some reason, made Mike's face flush in embarrassment considering the fact that he was caught staring at some random boy as if he hung the stars.
"Uhm, yeah, yeah im fine."
He blurted out with a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to play it casual.
