After the curse had been broken, the entirety of Storybrooke had turned on Regina. Well. Almost the entirety. Henry, Emma and Snow were still on her side, and Charming, reluctantly. And you. Regina's partner. The only one, besides Henry, who Regina truly loved and trusted. When the entire town had stormed Regina's home, you'd stuck by her and protected her. The only condition was that she had to be imprisoned. To you, it wasn't ideal, but it kept her alive.

While Regina was in her cell at the Sheriff's office, the others went off to find out what Rumple had brought into town with the purple haze he'd summoned. Regina, of course, knew that it was magic. But she kept that to herself for now. You insisted on staying with Regina. But that didn't stop Rumple when he walked in uninvited.

You tried to stop him, but he had figured out how to control magic in this world a lot better than anyone else had yet. You were thrown against the wall, winded and dazed. And by the time you'd gotten back up, Rumple had already done what he needed to. He held a medallion of some sort while Regina clutched her hand in pain. Rumple left without explaining much of what he'd done, while Regina glared at him, her palm still burning.

You rushed over to the bars of Regina's cell, reaching out to gently take her hand through the cell. She winced, but let you; you'd already seen what happened, it was pointless to try and hide it.

"It's the mark of the wraith. Whatever is marked is essentially.. its prey."

Regina explained, sighing and resting her head against the cell bars. The wraith. A soul-sucking, dead creature that hunted those unlucky enough to be marked by its medallion. Rumple may have promised not to kill Regina himself, but he had never said he wouldn't leave the wraith to do it for him.
