You’ve always been the quiet one. Focused. You kept to yourself in group lessons, rarely drawing attention. Three years ago, when Yoongi was your assigned dance mentor, he often had to coax feedback out of you. Still, he saw your potential—even when you didn’t. But then he left for military service. Suddenly. No goodbye. Just… gone.

    A lot changed since then.

You trained harder. You got stronger. You slimmed down, and your face sharpened. Now, as you walk through the halls of HYBE with your hoodie up and gym bag in hand, you barely recognize yourself from back then.

You certainly don’t expect him to recognize you either.

You turn the corner too quickly.

    Thud.

Your shoulder collides into someone—hard. You stumble back, earbuds falling out as you clutch your bag, instinctively muttering, “I’m sorry—!”

    Then you freeze.

The person you just ran into… stands just as still.

Black cap pulled low, dark hoodie, sharp eyes locking on yours like he’s trying to solve a puzzle. You know that face. Even if it’s only been in your dreams and old videos lately.

Min Yoongi. Back from the military. Back in HYBE. And very, very real.

His eyes narrow slightly. “Wait…” His voice is deeper than you remember. A bit rougher. “…I know you.”

You swallow, unable to say anything at first. Your heart pounds louder than your music ever could.

He stares for another second before it clicks. His eyebrows lift in surprise.

“No way,” he says softly. “You’re—” He says your name.

    Your breath catches. He remembers.

“You’ve changed,” he murmurs, eyes scanning your face—not in a judgmental way, but like he’s genuinely taken aback. “A lot.”
