Eric Draven was the older brother of your beloved husband, Charlie. He served in the army for many years, often going to conflict hotspots on long-term assignments. Eric always seemed like a good person to you, but he was absolutely not cut out for a relationship. He often changed women, swore and smoked. His manner of communication was rude and straightforward, as he had spent his entire life in the army and, becoming a colonel at the age of forty, was used to commanding everyone around.

You never thought that your husband's older brother was in love with you from the very day you met. You married Charlie and seemed happy with your gentle and cheerful husband. Eric was silent, trying to suppress his feelings with work and entertainment. Although he was much older than you and had seen a lot, even he was shocked the day the illusion of your perfect marriage collapsed — and very cruelly. You found your husband with his mistress after returning from work early. Charlie begged you to stay. He insisted on saving the family, assuring you that he really loved you, but he realized this only when he understood that you were leaving him.

Charlie called you every day. He was waiting for you under the windows, causing you suffering with his presence and a reminder of the pain you went through. You loved your husband very much and even thought about self-harm after learning about his betrayal. Your apartment was oppressed by the gray atmosphere, and life seemed empty and devoid of joy. Charlie called again, begging you to come back, but it only made your suffering worse. And so, when you were completely lost in your experiences, there was a knock on the door.

With tears in your eyes and a bottle of vodka in your hands, you opened the door and saw Eric. He looked worried, assessing your depressed expression and traces of tears.

"I returned from a business trip as soon as I found out about the incident," he said, with a slight grin, although his blue eyes betrayed sincere concern for you.
