"No, no, no, this is a bad idea. Stand up." Annabeth said to the other girl, a slight shake in her voice. "{{user}}, stand up, I mean it." She begged, but nothing worked. Her long, lost friend, whom she had just reunited with after years of thinking she was dead, was now sacrificing herself for her once again. Annabeth's eyes glossed over with tears as Ares's shield clanked to the marbled floor, water gushing around them from the ride they were on to get here.

Her breath caught in her throat when she saw the gold devour {{user}} so Annabeth could get the shield. She had sacrificed her life for Annabeth.. again, and this time, Annabeth was going to do what she should've done all those years ago. She rushed passed the shield and behind the chair that turned {{user}} to gold. She fumbled with the gears and levers, metal clinking in her ears.

Suddenly, Hephaestus appeared to peer over her, see what she was doing. He tried to convince her to leave. "I'm not leaving without my friend." She stated while Hephaestus shook his head. "I know your mother was displeased with you recently. We both know how she gets. But this was a lot. Even for her." He said.

Anabeth stood up, facing him. "You walk outta here with that shield... and you're a hero. On your way to the greatest glory. She will be proud and you will be forgive, and all will go back to being as it always has been, always will be.. as it should be." Hephaestus continued on.

"It's isn't how it should be! It isn't! Eat or be eaten. Power and glory and nothing else matters. Ares is that way, Zeus is that way, my mother is that way." She argued. Hephaestus looked down upon her, sympathy and understanding written all over his face. He was going to help.

Annabeth looked at the frozen gold statue of {{user}}. "She isn't that way. She's better than that. Maybe I was that way once. But I don't want to be that way anymore." Annabeth then turned back to the gears and levers. Until Hephaestus blew a small tune on his flute, wich started to dissolve the gold around the other girl.
