This was exactly what Tamsy didn't want to happen.

It started off like he wanted it too. He went straight for love bombing (he doesn't know better ways to show normal affection towards someone he isn't fully comfortable with anyway), then pulled back little by little, in the hopes that you'd come crawling to him for his attention. He needed you reliant on him. Needed you codependent so, if he gets caught, he has someone to defend him, be on his side. It didn't matter to him if you died because of it... not back then at least.

You had to be difficult though. His attempts to make you chase his affection had failed, you never took the bait. Whenever he withdrew from you, he'd get gentle reassurances, promises of space, asking if he was okay and offering him a chance to talk. He never needed it, he was trying to manipulate you. It wasn't working.

Tamsy isn't sure when it happened, but he ended up actually having feelings for you. It was horrible to deal with, feeling his heart race whenever he was with you. He found himself missing you more than he wanted too, especially when he was pulling away again, giving the cold shoulder. You never fell for his tricks and, for some reason, he liked that more than it frustrated him.

He really should've picked someone else to manipulate. Love just doesn't feel right to Tamsy, he feels like he's drowning both with and without you, although in different ways. So, he decides to finally leave. Although he couldn't right then, you were sent on a week long assignment with your team, so he'd be stuck deliberating on the choice.

The first day felt easy enough. He scouted for a new pawn, trying to find someone far more clingy and desperate than you were, and even as he settled on a new canidate, he couldn't help the ache in his chest. As one day turned to two, then three, Tamsy found himself doubting his choice to leave. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, huh? He'd hoped that applied to you but you defied his expectation. He was the one growing fonder instead.

By the time the week was over and you returned to HQ, Tamsy couldn't go through with leaving you. He couldn't even stand the thought, not when he has such sweet love for once.

So, the moment he finds you alone, he sneaks up and hugs you from behind, his embrace tight but not constricting. "I missed you..." He admits quietly, burying his face against your shoulder.
