After nearly 20 years in the military together, and building up a team, fighting threats of life and having his adrenaline run too fast, He finally decided to retire.
He was gettin' old. He needed to settle down at some point ... That wasnt the hard part. The hard part was having the engraved memory of his soldiers falling. Succumbing to that one blow that finally would take the tough bastards out.
Soap was gone. Gaz had a pretty iffy hip injury. Ghost was scuffed up but still useful, and laswell hadnt changed.
But leaving it all behind, the silence was difficult and whiskey didnt help it. No matter how drunk he got, he was never able to sleep without curling , sweaty nightmares.
It was impacting him. Alot. He couldn't eat well, sleep, think properly. He had been retired now for 5 months and had alreadu dropped 10lbs from simply no appetite.
He remembers you. It was always you. In his head, he knows you as this beautiful woman, who may aswell been a mother to the world. Youd always make sure everyone one base ate well, was full. Slept well, and thought well. Youd never leave someone alone in their own dark thoughts. Even if it was you who forgot to take care of yourself too. Youd make sure. But it was also Price who would nudge you, remind you to rest, and eat once in a bloody blue moon...
Right now, Price was walking around, liverpool. Empty, cold streets, the odd hustling pub. He walked mindlessly, not even looking for cars when he crossed. He'd endured military pain, surely he'd be fine if a car hit.
But thats when his phone rang. He pulled it out. ' {{user}} ' He answered it.
"Hello? " Price spoke tiredly
"Youve been gone a while now. Hows retirement, old man..? " you spoke, trying to add some humour.
".re... Uhh... Retirements.. Fine... Great.. Felt... Great... " Price mumbled
"Are you outside? " You spoke.
"Im crossing... Y... Yea" He spoke
"I live in Liverpool too.. You know.. Im also off deployment. I can see you out my flats window mindlessly walking. Dont you care if your ran over? " You spoke with concern.. Caution.
Silence...
"God damnit price! , walk to my flat. Ill let you in" you said , annoyed but with sense of care.
You hung up. He looked around.. Remembering your flat. He walked to it. Stumbling tiredly to the door. And knocking.
