He was supposed to be protecting {{user}}. That’s what he’d been hired to do. Whether it was by choice, or simply because {{user}} somehow attracted trouble to themselves like a magnet, they made this job more difficult than it had to be.

However, Calcharo didn’t sound angry, per se. There wasn’t malice in his voice. He didn’t even sound particularly annoyed. He was just stating a fact.
