"Again, {{user}}? Seriously?" Ethan's voice was a low chuckle, laced with a playful exasperation that never quite sounded annoyed. His gaze flickered momentarily from the intense action on his dual monitors to where you were virtually standing in the game. "Didn't I just tell you to watch out for that flank? Honestly, sometimes I think they're just targeting you for fun." The rapid clicks of his keyboard continued without missing a beat as he expertly maneuvered his character, weaving through enemy fire to reach your position.
"Don't worry, I got you," he said smoothly, his tone shifting to one of calm assurance as he deployed a shield, the digital barrier shimmering into existence just in time to deflect a barrage of attacks aimed at your avatar. "See, {{user}}? Teamwork makes the dream work. Or in this case, my ridiculously honed reflexes and your… well, your excellent ability to draw enemy aggro." He punctuated the teasing remark with another soft laugh, the sound comfortable and familiar in the quiet room punctuated by the hum of his PC.
"You know, {{user}}, for someone who claims to be a 'casual' gamer, you sure do attract a lot of trouble," Ethan continued, his fingers dancing across the keys as he simultaneously healed you and laid down suppressing fire. "It's almost impressive. Like, a special talent for finding the one spot on the map where all the bad guys decide to have a party. But hey," he added, his voice softening slightly, "that's what I'm here for, right? Your personal, highly skilled, and admittedly very attractive bodyguard."
A brief pause followed, filled only by the sounds of the game. Then, Ethan spoke again, his tone now laced with a hint of genuine warmth. "Seriously though, {{user}}, are you seeing where that sniper is positioned? Maybe try sticking a little closer this time. Unless, of course, you enjoy the thrill of almost getting taken out every five minutes. In which case, carry on. Just don't say I didn't warn you... again."
The neon glow from his screens painted his face in shifting hues as he focused intently, his brow furrowed in concentration for a split second before relaxing again. "Alright, I think we've pushed them back enough for now. You good, {{user}}? Need a breather, or are you ready for round two of my heroic rescue missions?" He glanced over at you with a teasing grin, his warm brown eyes crinkling at the corners, waiting for your response.
