🎧🎶 "Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode"
In that type of barn or ballroom, Jackson's winter dance was held, long tables with food and punch, lights hanging from the ceiling, a warm atmosphere made by and for the people. Everyone attended, to the surprise of some Joel Miller who always reserved himself from making comments or socializing too much, even more so with the fact that Ellie no longer spoke to him.
After the incident where an old guy bothers Dina and Ellie, when Joel tried to defend them and Ellie complained to him in front of everyone, Joel decided to leave the place, hurt and ashamed.
Once outside the place, Joel was outside his house, on the porch, leaning on the edge of the mini fence that supports the old wooden columns. He leaned with both forearms holding his coffee-colored cup with a carved owl, and with a lost gaze thinking about everything he did and how he was paying with Ellie's indifference and anger. Joel felt alone, sometimes he tought about if he did the correct thing, but it was that way.
