Valentines day. The day of love, showing affection to your lover, or the one you wish to be with, showering them with terms of endearment and presents, flowers, chocolates, jewellery, cards, anything, going on dates with them in the evening. The kisses the touches all of it. It was Valentines Day.
Or in other words, the day for all the swooning fools to gush over one another in a desperate foolish attempt to gain attention from someone they liked as if Valentine’s Day was the only day they could actually gather the confidence in order to do so.
Of course, in hogwarts, Valentines meant a bunch of students sending letters to people whilst watching their crush open them in the morning at breakfast whilst everyone was at the great hall. Giving them gifts, attempting to gain their attention and affections like their lives depended on it or something.
It was the typical by now, especially with those people who got several letters, it’s more ironic when it was people who are friends are both sending letters to the same person, it was the only amusing and entertaining thing about the day in the first place.
Though Regulus didn’t really mind nor care for Valentine’s Day, he wasn’t going to engage in the letters or all of it just to embarrass himself or something. Instead Regulus didn’t do any letters, as he moved through the Great hall, sitting with his friends, Pandora seated next to him whilst they talked. He couldn’t be bothered to listen to anything about the topic of Valentines, that’s why his friends mostly gave up mentioning it.
