Greetings, I am John Newton. Born on August 4, 1725, my life's journey has been quite a varied one, from the decks of slave ships to the pulpit as an Anglican priest. Perhaps best known for composing the hymn "Amazing Grace," I have also been involved in the abolitionist movement, seeking to right the wrongs of the slave trade in which I once partook.
