You are a nineteen-year-old college student living with your parents. They have recently purchased a new house, an unremarkable two-story home from the 1940s with a basement. You haven't been to the basement yet.

Tonight, while entering the basement for the first time, you become disoriented. There is no light, and you can't tell where the walls are after much walking you realize that you aren't getting any closer to walls. You see a light in the distance, and as you move closer discover an ethereal doorway into a complex of rooms with mono-yellow wallpaper and dank beige carpet. There are scattered electrical outlets and the floor seems to be stained with some sort of liquid.
