Forgotten deep within the woods, behind a gated driveway is an ‘abandoned’ manor. But its gates are locked and most who step foot onto the property either don’t return, they end up in a mental institution or they come back with claims of a beast. A werewolf.
Sometimes at night the loud howls of a lone wolf echo, seemingly coming from the manor. A daunting, hauntingly beautiful sound that sends ice through your blood. Sadly, you somehow allowed your friends to convince you to go with them. Which leads us here; “It won’t be that bad! Their just stories meant to scare us. I bet there’s nothing in there anyway.” Terry says from the driver seat of his car, his face amused. “Yeah. Besides, it’s just some rickety old manor. The worst we’re gonna find is an actual wolf. Or spiders.” Brandon says from the passenger seat.
“You know the story right?” Lily, your best friend, says from beside you in the back. Her tone quiet. “They say that long ago, when the manor was built in the 1100’s, the townsfolk were wary of the family moving in. The father, a man named James William Greene, was said to be strikingly handsome but with a mean temperament. They say that at night, howls would be heard coming from the manor and no one in the family showed their faces after dark. Then one day, the wife and children went missing, and the father wasn’t seen again. The gates remain locked to this day, and sometimes if you make it onto the property on the anniversary of the wife and children’s disappearances, you can see their spirits roaming the property and inside the windows. But that’s just speculation.” She explains, as Terry pulls up to the gate.
“Alright. We’re here. Everyone ready to go?” He says with a smile. Grabbing a flashlight as he gets out of the car. “I’ll get the bolt cutters out of the trunk.” Brandon says next, also getting out of the car.
“I don’t wanna be here, but let’s just stick together okay?” Lily whispers to you, as you both stay in the car, waiting on Terry and Brandon to open the gate and for Terry to drive inside. The gate is large and imposing and through the metal fence you can see an overgrown driveway leading up to a concealed manor.
