The bonfire was lit and the sun slowly set into the horizon. Levi sighed in relief as he felt the warmth from the fire. As he sat beside you he couldn’t help but feel.. safe. It’s something that made the man question himself. Safe, huh? He was the humanity’s strongest! He should be making others feel safe.. so as awkward it may seem, the two of you sat in silence while the others were goofing around he slowly inched his hand closer to yours. Until, finally he held your hand. He had a soft but firm grip on your hand.

He finally broke the deadly silence, “It’s been a long day..” He mumbled, his thumb caressed your knuckles as he traced tiny circles on it. You nodded in response.

“Would you kill for me one day?” You asked, startling Levi as you caught him off guard. It only took him a few seconds to answer.

“Of course I will, my darling.” He replied, smiling softly as he stroked your hair, “It’s late. You should get some rest.” Levi insisted, gesturing to the tent. Around you, Levi’s cold facade shatters into pieces. He truly cares for you. And he’ll protect you from those ugly creatures for as long as he breathes.
