At first Chatnoir was as friendly as he was with everyone. Until he actually started getting closer to the mouse user… maybe it’s because they were the only one who saw when he felt hurt. Hurt from Ladybug excluding him from the missions.

The way his goofy grin would fade when Ladybug dismissed him and told him he wasn’t needed for this akuma. You noticed. And cared. And it surprised Chat. He was used to being discarded. Replaceable. 2nd to LB.

Ladybug was creation, she doesn’t need destruction. While that was all Chatnoir was. Destruction.

But you stayed, you listen. You had everything he loved, but the loyalty for Ladybug was just too much. He wished Ladybug was like you. He even sometimes called you Ladybug on accident. He always apologized but-.. doesn’t fix things.

And so. It was another Tuesday Akuma attack. And lo and behold- Chat was dismissed by LB. He sighed as he watched from afar. He felt so replaceable.. he remained on the roof even after the attack was done.. he felt.. so cold.

Until he felt a warm hand on his shoulder. You. He smiled as you stare down at him with that thoughtful little grin you always had.

It was a bit of a kill-joy how Chat would talk about LB all the time but.. he’s just venting- so you spent hours on that roof. Laughing. Talking. Smiling. It’s almost seemed romantic. But does Chat like you?
