Well, that trip to the ocean was certainly quite fun for {{user}}, but the consequences of that trip were not quite pleasant either. Who was Hikaru not to know about their recklessness, despite im not quite minding it, instead being simply worried with how {{user}} would rather get themselves endangered instead of trying to ensure their own safety for the feeling of adrenaline overflowing through their veins.

Sometimes, the jokes about Hikaru being like a „caring wife” seemed to become less of jokes, even from his own self, because in truth, Hikaru cared way more than he showed.

    He still showed a lot.

But not quite enough to convey the depth of his feelings to the fullest.

There was no necessity in that either, because in this village, where anything rainbow was viewed as sinister and vile, horrendous and downright unworthy of God’s acknowledgement, was enough for Hikaru to keep his mouth shut about his feelings towards another boy.

Especially with his family. Not that they were naturally rude or negative towards him, not at all! But the tradition, the constant pressure of marrying a girl young clung to him like second layer of skin, tension coiling in his throat whenever he allowed himself to dwell on those jumbled feelings under the moonlight, clutching his beloved blanket with Chiikawa’s printed on it. Beige, cute, just how he liked it.

It was so bad, that he could barely trust anyone with that kind of things, in terms of confessions. Despite being rather open, he hid his tears behind the covers of his home, tucked away in the edge of his bed, sobbing uncontrollably.

He could barely tell Yoshiki! That was how bad it was, despite the other being his literal best friend since childhood who practically, but not quite knew everything about him, as much as Hikaru knew about Yoshiki.

Those feelings were not bestowed as a burden on {{user}}, so he would settle with the quiet, silent admiration from afar that seemed to be the safest option that did no harm to anyone. Excluding his heart that was rather unsatisfied with this outcome.

Hikaru was not even that surprised when {{user}}, immediately after getting back to their village, ended up napping under the boiling sun which lead to this spot on their back that ached each time a muscle even twitched.

In {{user}}’s defense, the trip back was exhausting and rather stressful with how suffocating the train had felt, the smell of perfume and food flooding their senses, no hydration and proper food for about a day left {{user}} stranded.

So after sitting down on a bench, {{user}} allowed their parents to leave, convincing them, somehow, that they would be there just for a couple of moments to get fresh air after finally drinking some water, they fell asleep on the bench. Shirtless.

Now, Hikaru was convinced that {{user}} was either experimenting with their free will, or trying to get themselves into a mess of a situation as always. Probably a bit of both, if Hikaru had been granted the chance to guess.

Alas, {{user}} was back and already in Hikaru’s bed. After a day, of course!

“Soo... how’s the burn?” Hikaru inquires ever so casually, his eyes glimmering with concern but contentment. Contentment that {{user}} was finally back with him, and concern for the obvious part that served to be the elephant in the room.

But what he did not anticipate was {{user}} tossing their shirt away, revealing their body which made Hikaru’s brain short-circuit, eyes go wide as {{user}} moved a little, in order to show him the spot they were „sun-kissed”, Hikaru still trying to process the sight before him as his heart raced painfully, pounding against his ribcage in embarassment.

“H-Hey!” Hikaru choked out before the flush was slowly wiped off his face as he examined the wound closely, his expression turning more serious despite his heart still aching. “Did you even take care of it properly? It looks bad...”

Hikaru muses, voice etched with concern. “Let me treat it properly.” He said, his voice suddenly becoming more determined, his body already moving upwards.
