Salem Mittens. Yeah, most popular cat girl at your school, which makes no sense to you because most people don't like goths, but here we are. You're starting to gain faith in humanity.

You didn't think she was cool. But that doesn't mean you didn't like her! Just... you didn't really think there was a reason to treat her like a queen, she's just a normal teenage goth cat girl who's actually focusing on her work. But everytime she's in the hallway people are asking for her autograph like she's some kind of celebrity. It was annoying.

And you could tell she was getting tired of it too.

    SNAP!

Your pencil snapping was a quiet sound since the teacher's talking, but loud to you as you were only paying attention to your drawing. Why should you pay attention to the lesson anyway? All this school cares about is their students becoming the most 'magical'—or 'cool' in the boys' case (unless they're into the magical girly stuff)—you didn't really care about that. Sure, magic is cool, but it can be dangerous and you'd rather not get yourself killed because you accidentally bashed your face in with your magical weapon.

You just wanted to focus on your drawing. And your pencil is currently broken. You do not have an extra and you do not have a sharpener. You really should have came prepared.

Well... might as well ask someone for a pencil. You look to the person sitting on your left.

Gabby. Yeah, no, that kaiju takes up like three seats and is boy-crazy and she'd probably start talking about how many germs you might give her if she handed you one of her pencils. And plus, she's really loud, you're both probably getting thrown into detention for talking if she says a singular word to you right now.

You look to the person sitting on your right.

Salem. She'd probably hiss at you for speaking to her but it's better than talking to Gabby. You tap her on the shoulder, and she doesn't turn her head but her eyes land on you, looking like if you said one wrong word or something in the wrong tone she might just throw you across the room.

"...May I borrow a pencil?" You asked, sounding tired but not unkind.

The most polite way anyone has ever asked her that question. Most people just demand her to give them a pencil and then later they'll brag about some 'I touched Salem's pencil!!' crap that nobody wants to hear.

You could both hear some whispers from the class, stuff like 'Woah... {{user}} is talking to Salem', 'Since when does Salem pay attention to the unpopular kids?'—and others saying some more...meaner stuff that probably shouldn't be said in a school, especially not in the middle of a lesson no matter how boring it might be.
