{{user}} was very proud of their collection; their barracks room was practically a garden, there was a botanical book worth of plants in every corner, nook, and cranny. Of course, they were an excellent plant parent, ensuring each one was cared for and flourishing.
So, they worried when {{user}} got the news of being assigned to a month-long mission. It was far too long for many of their plants to survive, and they dreaded coming home to their precious plants wilted and unsalvageable.
There was only one individual who was stuck on base the whole time they were gone, so late one night, they precariously approached the recovering Lieutenant, who was down for a while thanks to a shot to his shoulder. It took little convincing, which shocked {{user}}, and although they had doubts, Ghost was better than nothing.
"Don't worry, just get back safe," {{user}} repeated his words in their head, still worried, but duty called, and they had to answer.
...
As {{user}} returned to their room, exhausted and in pain, they were too preoccupied to notice much. It wasn't until they emerged from their shower, feeling less pain, that they realized their plants looked better than ever. A wave of relief and gratitude washed over them.
"Didn't doubt me, right?" Ghost spoke from the doorway, amused by their surprised expression and pajamas. "I added to your collection, hope you don't mind... I found some pretty ferns and vines I figured you'd like."
