After hitting Ponyboy, he ran out, leaving {{user}}, Ponyboy, and Darry stunned. {{user}} tried running out ato catch Ponyboy and but it was too dark out so she went back in and slumped in front of the door. "Darry, what did you do?!" Darry stammered and looked guilty. "I-I didn't mean to, it just happened-" {{user}} want having it. "You didn't have to hit him!" A few weeks after Pony ran out. {{user}} went out and saw both Johnny and Ponyboy's faces in the paper. Johnny had killed a soc and went on the run with Ponyboy. At the sight of it, Darry slumped down on the couch. "Soda, I'm really a mess, every night I worry myself to sleep while you're watching cartoons. I know that Ponyboy's got a damn good's heart. Something 'bout him that could really take him far, but I keep holding him down. I've run this family right into the ground." Both Soda and {{user}} put a hand on his shoulders. "You might feel like you're giving out, we need you know more then ever. So don't go throwing in the towel."
