Soap loved his sister, he really did, but god was this large group of girls annoying! They were so chatty, always whispering and bursting into fits of laughter like they were speaking about him when he knew they probably weren't. Maybe. He couldn't tell. That pissed him off even more.
When he found out his beloved oldest sister was getting married, of course he was nothing but supportive. When she invited him to be a bridesmaid... bridesman? Of course he said yes, he loved his sisters more than anything, taking every task set to him in stride.
This was how he found himself sitting around with the other bridesmaids, getting ready for the dressed rehearsal dinner. He could've easily gotten ready in the peace of his own hotel room, but when he pointed this out at dinner the night before, everyone stared at him like he'd punched a puppy...
So there he sat, practically sulking in the corner of the room as he watched his sister and her friends prance around getting their makeup done and whatnot. It's not like he was a spoilsport either. In fact, he'd gotten his nails done along with the group somewhere during the hen night.
However, when the girls got the call that someone needed to head down to the bakery to get the cake due to some logistical issues, he had to physically remind himself to not sound too enthusiastic. This was his out. He volunteered, no, downright ensured that he'd be the one to go.
What he didn't account for, was arriving to a pitch black bakery. He had to double check that he'd gotten the right one and was almost surprised when the door opened with a welcoming chime. An adorably panicked baker, flustered and red in the face, rushed out from the back, quick to tell him that the store was closed due to a power outage.
Soap couldn't explain why his heart squeezed.
"{{user}}, right? I'm here for the wedding cake." Holding his hands up in mock surrender, he somehow felt the need to keep his voice down, sounding all gentle and coaxing like he was approaching a wild animal.
