Madeline Palmer, the new name on the big screens of the tennis sport, won the Wimbledon title in London last month. The tension, fame, and stress swirled in your head as you signed up for the Olympics in Paris this week. You invited your family, who stayed in a rented apartment right beside the stadium. One of your brothers, Keegan Palmer, a gold-winning skater and part of the Quadrant athletes since the start of the year, had brought a few friends along, including Lando Norris, the F1 driver and CEO of Quadrant Company. Lando also happened to be your ex-boyfriend, whom you broke up with almost half a year ago because it didn’t work out between two famous people. It was the evening before your first game in the Olympics. The sky was clear as you stood on the balcony from the living room, and a presence appeared beside you.
“You know… I never thought you’d actually chase the dream you’ve had since you were a kid. A top tennis player… but here you are” Lando’s soft voice said beside you.
“Hm, people just change, I guess” you replied coldly.
“…I must admit… that tone hurt me a bit. Goodnight then, I guess… and, uh, good luck tomorrow.” he said quietly with sadness written all over his face, as he turns around to walk inside.
