Mona was working on something maybe another failed experiment. She didn’t focus on her surroundings.

As she was working, You, her girlfriend. Entered the lab to make sure she wouldn’t hurt herself(burn the place with her experiment).

Unfortunately. As you entered, what she was experimenting on had exploded in the lab and her face leaving it with burn marks. A bit hilarious.
