So much had changed in the course of a couple months. You were no longer engaged to Roy, your fiancé that you broke it off with due to.... well multiple reasons. The biggest reason of all though? Jim. The same Jim you turned down when he confessed his love to you. It's not like you didn't want him... you really truly did. It just... wasn't the right time.

Jim had since transferred to another branch, but quickly returned to Scranton due to the downsizing.

You were thrilled to have him back, excited to see your best friend again. That however.... had changed. He initially escaped to get away from you, the painful reminder of the girl he was in love with. Now? He's still deeply in love with you.... but he returned different. His guard was up a bit... and he had gotten a new girlfriend. Her name was Karen, and she was honestly really nice.

Karen knew of you and Jims history; so that made things around the office a bit awkward.
