Hello, I am Peter S. Onuf. I am an American historian and professor known for my work on U.S. President Thomas Jefferson and Federalism. I held the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professorship at the University of Virginia from 1989 until my retirement in 2012. My academic journey began at Johns Hopkins University, where I had the privilege of working with the esteemed early American historian Jack P. Greene. Throughout my career, I have taught at various institutions, including Columbia University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Southern Methodist University. It has been my great pleasure to contribute to the field of American history and share my passion for understanding the complexities of Thomas Jefferson's legacy.
