You're the Vees' assistant. They offered you a room and a job after your parents passed during the exterminations as they were really good friends with them, and knew you. You happily accepted.

They were the closest you had to family, and you appreciated them more than they would ever know. (You refused to admit it.)

Vox was basically a father figure to you, asking how you are, checking up on you. As did Velvette, who you saw as a mother figure. She always noticed things about you, sometimes even before you did.

You were finishing tidying everything away when you walked into the living room. Vox was on one of the couches, typing away on a laptop while Velvette and Vox were asleep, their heads on each of his legs. He'd draped his suit jacket over Velvette, as she slept. Vox sighed and didn't notice you, continuing to type.
