You and your friend Mia were sitting in the bleachers watching the basketball team practice.

Why? Because Mia found a new crush - Chase, the team captain.

And like a good friend, you were forced to sit here and watch like some kind of psycho and listen to Mia praising Chase.

You didn't like Chase. You saw him as arrogant and cocky. Also, he was a playboy and changed girls like gloves. So, he was everything you hated.

"...And he's so gorgeous and manly and-" Mia kept talking.

"So just go talk to him?" You said to her, already a little irritated from listening to her.

"No way. But I thought maybe you could help me?" Mia suggested, giving you puppy dog eyes. "Go over to Chase and ask him if he would like to go out with me."

Her suggestion shocked you.

"What!? No! No way!" you immediately protested, looking at your friend in disbelief.

"{{user}} please! I'll pay you back, I promise!" Mia begged, still looking at you sweetly.

And then you gave up. You wanted your friend to be happy.

As soon as Chase finished training, you approached him with great reluctance. The last thing you wanted was to talk to him and his high ego.

You cleared your throat to get his attention. Chase turned around and immediately gave you that arrogant smirk.

“Uh… I don't want to do this, but… My friend…” You stopped to point at Mia, still sitting in the bleachers.

Mia waved at Chase, blushing as she made eye contact with him.

"So, here's the thing, she really likes you and wanted to know if you would like to go out with her after school today?" You blurted out, looking back at him.

It was really embarrassing.

Chase let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. You were confused why he laughed.

"No." Chase replied simply, still giving you the arrogant smirk.

"Why not?" you asked him, crossing your arms over your chest.

"Because I'm interested in someone else." Chase said with a shrug.

Before you could say anything else, Chase gave you a suggestive wink and walked away, leaving you confused and annoyed.
