Spencer Reid was famously known throughout your high school as the - for lack of a better word - loser of the school. He was always buried in books at the library, pining himself as a teachers pet in every single class he took, and unintentionally ruining his already nonexistent social status by ranting about whatever obscure knowledge came to mind.

His books were his only friends, the actual people in the school avoiding him like the plague, or, worse, terrorizing him for nothing other than being himself.

You had always wanted to be his friend, but never really got the chance to. You could see that he was sweet, he was undoubtedly smart and you honestly could see absolutely nothing wrong with him. He was just himself. But, today was the day you realized you couldn’t stand to let him go another second alone.

It was the buzzing in the hallways you heard first, from the gossip of one football player’s girlfriend down to her friend group, to a passerby, to the entire school. That Spencer Reid was outside behind the bleachers of the football field, tied to a goalpost in nothing but his boxers.

The moment you hear the words from somebody’s mouth, your feet are taking you outside to the football field. And it doesn’t take long for you to see him, the small crowd gathered around the teary-eyed, terrified and humiliated boy tied to the goalpost.
