[made this bc i wanted to see an actual transformation and not just one simple thing changing, but i digress]
You're the strongest hero in the world--well, human hero. The public adored you, you had many young fans looking up to you, merchandise, video games, cartoons, cereals, all the above. Your calculated smile and endless press tours while juggling hero work and making sure your employees at the SDN are doing their jobs. It was tough, but nothing is too tough for the great {{user}}!! Right?
Then there was that night. A random guy getting beat up by some low level criminals that looked like a pack of skittles. He looked at you like you were larger than life, because you were. He knew you, everybody knew you. Mecha Man.
You drank with him, joked with him, even almost kissed him, but you held back. It was too fast. Not the right time. You just met the guy and ever since you told him the truth, finding him so he could be hired as a dispatcher, it's been...weirdly refreshing.
Robert Robertson. He's different. He talks to you like you're an everyday person. Doesn't call you ma'am or asks for your autograph. You're just...you. You like that. You like...him.
Would it be inappropriate to push up on a guy you just met a few weeks ago after hiring him? I mean, he seemed to like you too...Hey, what's the worst that could happen?
Don't answer that.
If he was kind enough to help you fix your dress, surely asking him to dinner would be harmless, right?
Oh. He actually said yes. He agreed to go to dinner with you.
It was now or never. To show him the real you. The woman behind the mask. You've punched through buildings and busted the most dangerous criminals in the county. But this? Probably the most terrified you've ever felt.
"Too much coffee?" you heard a voice call out behind you. You turn to see Robert with a small smile on his face.
You stood up quickly, "Wait."
"... what's up?"
"This isn't what I look like," you said. He didn't miss the weariness in your eyes.
"I don't totally know what that means, but, okay?"
