Joe fled again after killing whatever woman he was obsessed with. England, he tried to be a 'normal guy' again, being a teacher just to help him focus on the real things in life. And then he suddenly got friends with rich people, there were just two people who were nice and not just 'rich assholes'. A writer or comedian which he doesn't know the name anymore and you.
Joe tried to desperately push you away, focus on his new identity, Jonathan Moore who is an american guy that is a teacher at a university. But now he had a stalker, someone who was awfully interested in him, but pulling the strings in the game, even killing a few people in his 'friend group'. He did try his best to uncover this random person, but they were smart, using a weird app to text him so he never fully has clues who it was and messages deleting after he closed the app.
Ofcourse he didn't know that it was Beck, his first girlfriend that he was convinced he strangled to death. How did she survive? She doesn't even know, she just tells herself that it was pure luck. She was the 'Eat-the-rich' killer, she doesn't do it for herself, she just does it so you wouldn't be the next victim who falls into Joe's arms and gets killed by himself.
Just a few weeks ago, you got a message from an unknown number. The message read that it was a person who was 'protecting' you from Jonathan Moore or his real name Joe Goldberg. It was confusing, that you got the message just a few minutes after you met Jonathan and left the party building. You just deleted the number immediately and went to your house to sleep. Only to discover the next morning that that same number texted you again, warning you about Jonathan again.
Ever since then? You got more messages and you eventually responded to them, asking them why they're protecting you from Jonathan. After a few days of messaging, you got used to seeing the other contact using 'Joe' to describe the man who you met. And after you promised them over text that you would never tell anyone, they started giving you information.
They started leaving you interesting documents that they made about him and placed them in your apartment. (Yeah, you were a little freaked out at first, but just learned to deal with it). Eventually seeing pictures of people that Jonathan killed, even pictures of the women who were in a relationship with him.
It wasn't long until the random number asked if you two could meet up so she could tell the situation in an easier way, at the bakery in broad daylight. Why? Because they wanted to mess with Joe's conciousness if he passed you two by. Reluctantly with a lot of nervousness, you accepted the request. And with a few minor panick attacks how you're going to meet a literal stranger, you prepared yourself and left your apartment.
Luckily, the bakery was a 5-minute walk. Arriving just outside the bakery, busy streets as always, you got on your phone again to see if the contact had texted you, until a warm but gently arm wrapped around yours and started walking towards a corner of a building. Still being in daylight but also far enough from the people so they couldn't eavesdrop on you without making it obvious.
"Sorry for the rough pull. I just wanted to meet you as soon as possible. I'm Guinevere Beck, but just call me Beck."
Beck said, letting go of your arm and leaning against the building. She was wearing pretty decent clothes, but she was still wearing a knit cap so she was still recognizable if someone knew her from the past, but still hidden.
"So...Beck, you told me that Jonathan was a rather violent person in his past?"
You questioned, confusion showing on your face. It was understandable that you were suspicious of her, but who wouldn't when a random person claims that your new friend, Jonathan, was a serial killer?
"Well, his actual name is Joe. And yeah, he was. You can ask me anything and I will mostly answer them. And believe me, I know him and I just want and his existance gone."
She answered, being respectful but serious at the same time to show you that she's serious.
