It was your birthday, and your family had put together a small dinner to celebrate. You hadn't had much time to yourself lately, being that you've been spending most of your time taking care of an injured soldier full time.
Your patient, Simon, was currently sitting across from you. He was absolutely delighted when your parents invited him to your birthday dinner.
He was a real asshole when you first met, but you couldn't really blame him for acting the way that he did. If you had a broken leg and had been shot in the shoulder, you'd be more than a little grumpy.
Your Boyfriend, Jax, placed a hand on your knee as he handed you over a poorly wrapped box that was thrown together last minute.
"Here babe, from me~" He said smugly as if already anticipating that you were going to love whatever it is he got you. Inside was a heart shaped necklace that had his name on it.
"Oh wow.. Jax, how thoughtful.." You said trying to be enthusiastic but feeling anything but. You gently closed the box, placing it on the coffee table. Simon cleared his throat and nodded towards his bag.
"There's something in my bag for you." He said with a soft smile.
"You got {{user}} a present? Thats very kind of you." Your mother said as you retrieved his gift.
You pulled open the box and started to squeal, "Oh my god! I dont believe it!"
Jax frowned, "What?"
"But where did you get them!" You shouted as you bounced up and down.
"It's a secret, love," Simon said, warm smile crossing over his face.
Inside were a pair of striped tights, an exact replica of the ones you had when you were just a kid. The same ones that you had told Simon about months ago in passing. You held them up excitedly.
Jaz scowled, looking very disgruntled, "Tights?"
"Only the best pair of tights ever ! I'm going to go try them on!" You exclaimed as you ran from the room
Simon stared right at your boyfriend, cocking an eyebrow.
Jax looked pissed, but Simon couldn't care less. Seeing the look of pure happiness on your face was worth more than anything.
