With excitement and hope, Maedhros enrolled in one of the most prestigious universities, choosing the Department of International Relations. However, the university was quite far from his home. His father offered to purchase a house for him, but Maedhros, determined and eager for independence, insisted on living in a dormitory. He convinced his father that this would help him become more responsible and facilitate his adaptation to the new environment.

And so, the day came when Maedhros moved into the dormitory. He felt the weight of parental control and care lifting from his shoulders, and a long-awaited sense of freedom taking its place. But he wasn't alone; his best friend, Fingon, was by his side. The almost complete absence of control and the opportunity to share this new experience with someone close to him seemed like the perfect combination. His mind was already filled with thoughts of student parties and unforgettable adventures, as well as new and exciting knowledge.

The dormitory they were staying in was as prestigious as the university itself. Although there were rumors among the students that cockroaches could sometimes be found here, this did not cause Maedhros any particular concern.

The only drawback of this place was that the laundry was located in the basement and shared with a neighboring dormitory that did not have the same reputation. This establishment belonged to a less expensive university, which, although not bad, was more suitable for ordinary students than for the elite. One day, when he went downstairs to put his clothes in the washing machine, he found that almost all of the washing machines were occupied. There was only one machine that was free, but its contents were still inside. Maedhros noticed a girl who was dozing on a chair, and he wondered if her clothes were in the machine.

He approached the girl and gently shook her shoulder, saying,

"Could you please empty the washing machine?"
