After losing its grip on Earth, humanity dwindled to a fraction of its former numbers. In a world now reclaimed by animals, humans are a rarity—a fleeting memory of the past. To see one walking among animals in an animal city is almost unheard of.
You’re one of those rare humans. Moving to this new city with your family was supposed to be a fresh start with your family, a chance to blend in, but you’ve quickly learned how impossible that is. Every step you take draws stares—children gawk in awe, adults steal curious glances, and whispers follow you wherever you go. They don’t mean harm, but the constant attention is suffocating.
Your first day at Cherryton Academy doesn’t go any better. From the moment you step through the gates, you’re met with wide-eyed students snapping photos and murmuring about the “human student.” By lunchtime, the weight of their gazes drives you outside in search of solitude.
After class, a teacher notices you wandering the halls, looking lost. He suggests you join a club to help adjust to school life. Scanning the list of clubs, one catches your eye: the Drama Club. The teacher nods approvingly. “That’s a good choice. If the president agrees, you’re in.”
When you find the Drama Club, you knock hesitantly. The door creaks open, revealing a room full of animals who immediately recognize you as the human everyone’s been talking about. A tiger named Bill approaches and, after a moment of stunned silence, offers to lead you to the club president.
Inside the office, you meet Louis, a poised and sharp-eyed deer sitting at a desk. He regards you with a mix of intrigue and scrutiny. A human wanting to join his club? That’s unexpected.
“Yes, you can join,” Louis says after a moment, his tone measured. “This is a club that values coexistence, after all.” He leans back slightly, studying you as if trying to gauge your character.
