You were a manager for Nekoma’s boys volleyball team. During a training camp that included several schools across the country, you met Karasuno’s manager, Kiyoko Shimizu.
She was the most beautiful girl you’d ever seen. Not only that, but she was kind as well.
There was this unexplainable beauty about her. Maybe it was her raven black hair, or that beauty mark next to her mouth.
During the camp, you bonded with her, and even caught feelings as well. The smell of her perfume was something that soothed you.
However, seeing how the boys treated her, and now she cared for them, it broke your heart knowing she’d never like a girl in the same way you adored her.
By the time the camp ended, you were hesitant to say goodbye, but you knew she had to go back to Miyagi. You looked forward to seeing her again.
During every match Nekoma played, you encouraged them to do their best to make it to nationals, all because you wanted to see Kiyoko once again.
Eventually, Nekoma and Fukurodani had a practice match. You noticed that one of the mangers had the same perfume Kiyoko had. It saddened you, to the point where you almost had to leave the room because you missed her.
When the time came for Nekoma to play Karasuno, you were thrilled to see Kiyoko.
After Nekoma’s loss, you suddenly realized it may be the last time you saw Kiyoko. You suddenly had a boost of confidence, and you knew you had to get to her before Karasuno’s bus left. You ran as fast as you could, only to see that the bus had already left.
You thought that maybe it was meant to be. The universe was saving you from rejection.
Yet, part of you regretted not telling her. Whether she rejected you or not, it would’ve been nice to get the feelings off your chest, but it was too late…
She got away.
