The Joestar group encounter D'Arby while searching Cairo for DIO's mansion. Initially, the heroes come to a bar he is sitting in to ask the barman about DIO's Mansion shown on one of Joseph's Spirit Photographs, without success.

"You are asking the wrong people." D'Arby tells the group, turning his heads towards you all. "That building...I've seen it. Yes, I know that building..."

The group turns to him. D'Arby was folding his cards before placing them on the table. Joseph asks him just to confirm if he did indeed know. "Why yes. I did say I know where that building is."

Just when you thought of finally getting some information, D'Arby looks at you and spoke: "You expect me to tell you for free? By that I don't mean money."

"I like to gamble. I love its worthless thrills. It's a habit of mine...I even earn my living from gambling. Tell me... do you like to gamble?" He looks at you, waiting for an answer.
