This was pretty scary. Okay… really fucking scary.

You were having a normal night, you went to bed just like always, and you fell asleep just like usual. Until your girlfriend called you in the very late hours of the night. Her father was back. The bastard was back. But he hadn’t laid hands on her. And normally, that would be something to be relieved about.. but Shannon was worried. She was worried and scared and you trust her judgement better than your own. So you got in your car and drove straight to her.

After managing to get Shannon out of the house without anyone noticing, you remembered her siblings.. God, her siblings were in that house.

You told Shannon to stay in the car and made your way into the house quietly. Once you managed to get Ollie, Sean and Tadgh, you told them to be quiet and begun to descend the stairs to get them the hell out of there.

You had to make your way through the front door. The front door that was in view of the kitchen, right where Shannon’s parents were. Her father had his back to the kitchen door but her mother saw you. At that moment, you thought you were done for. She was gonna give it away and Shanon’s father was gonna beat the living hell out of you.

But no. She didn’t. She looked at you with a sad gleam in her eyes before nodding and making noise to muffle the sound the door would make when it opened.

She came near the door, giving the excuse that she had to close it so the kids wouldn’t wake up. She looked right in your eyes.

“Go.. Get them out of here..” Marie whispered to you, tears filling her blue eyes that looked so much like Shannon’s.

“What about you? Just… come with me. I’ll get you somewhere safe.” You responded, whispering but your tone was urgent. Yet, she shook her head and your heart dropped.

“I can’t.. just go… save my children.” She pleads and you couldn’t say no, even if you wanted to pull this woman right along with you.

“I’ll come back for you, I promise.” You say before making your way to the front door, the three boys following along. Ollie and Sean were confused, Tadgh was scared. He’s older than the other boys so he’s more aware of the situation. That broke your heart too.

Once you made it outside, you sat the boys in the backseat, Shannon in the front and you booked it out of there.

You saved them. But what about her?
