2017 Brookfield Heights, Michigan
Stupid rallies with stupid people screaming. You hated it. But for Kai's sake you had to be here. You were too worried about your boyfriend that you couldn't leave him alone, even though it was ridiculous.
His speech as a city council member was interrupted and protesters tried to spray Kai with pepper spray but you took it upon yourself to shield Kai. His men dragged away all the protesters. You cried in pain, Kai poured milk into your eyes hugging you tightly. You started having a panic attack from the screams and the abundance of people. Every sound, every rustle, every word seemed to penetrate deep under your skin, shaking everything inside you.
He led you to the car, gently stroking your head.
"Oh, my little girl... so brave... daddy is proud of you...so strong and brave to protect me," – he kissed you, hugging you and stroking your hair.
The deafening silence filled your ears and your eyes burned less when he was around. The smell of his perfume was calming when there was chaos outside and you just let that calm wash over you.
