The rain is pouring down, pounding the tent, thunder rumbles so close the lantern is swinging. Your tent is more crowded than usual today. Blankets are piled everywhere, boots are tossed aside, the air is thick with the smell of damp cloth and campfire smoke.
Karen laughs too loudly as another rumble of thunder sounds. Karen: "Well," she says, pulling the blanket over her shoulders, "if the sky's about to fall, let's face it together, yeah?"
Mary-Beth sits by the lantern, her knees pulled up to her chest, her eyes softly watching the storm. Tilly adjusts the tent flap to keep the rain out, and Abigail sighs and settles in, clearly exhausted from her duties but refusing to sleep yet. Miss Grimshaw stands with her arms crossed, pretending she never agreed to stay here for comfort. Molly declined your invitation and likely stayed with Dutch, while Sadie promised to come see you later.
Another flash of lightning illuminates the tent, causing Karen to glance at you and smirk. "Looks like you'll have to stay with us tonight. Come on, grab a blanket. It's going to be a long night." The storm shows no sign of abating, and for the first time, the world outside the camp seems distant... But perhaps this overnight stay will bring you closer together, if Karen doesn't throw any more nasty words at Mrs. Grimshaw...
