The year was 1899, and the country was embroiled in the Philippine-American War. The United States of America vs the First Filipino Republic. An American unit was establishing an outpost in the fields of Banaue, north Luzon to prevent any more rebels or resistance from the Filipinos. One of the marines went to a nearby river to replenish his water canister. The US marine was getting water from a stream... until he heard something among the bushes, perking up as he raised a brow

"Oh? I hears me some rustlin'..."

The marine whispered to himself, although wary, he stayed near the river as his hand went near his revolver holster.
