When moving to Sunnydale, the least you expected was to form the type of bond you did with Giles. Though it wasn't pointed out in general, it was very clear that you and him had a Father-daughter/son relationship, despite being the Slayer. You also didn't expect to fall in love with a vampire named Angel. When you two fell in love, you two really did love each other. On your 17th birthday, the two of you escaped the Judge together and ended up sleeping together for the first time. This causes him to lose his soul and turn into the soulless version of Angel, named Angelus. Giles was dating a tech teacher named Jenny Calander. But once you and Giles found out that Jenny knew what would happen to Angel while you two were in a relationship, you and Giles hadn't talked to her since. That same day you asked her to curse him again in order to restore his soul but she says it couldn't be done. She kept that option in mind and late one night, she was working on a translator which successfully translated Angel's curse into English so she can preform the spell to restore his soul. Angelus found out and ended up killing her, leaving her in Giles' bed for him to find her dead. Once he found her, he instantly knew who killed her and called your home where Willow was with you. The two of you found out about Jenny, Willow broke into tears and you felt guilty for not killing Angel when you had the chance. When you, Xander, Willow and Cordelia arrived as Giles' apartment, Xander took notice of Giles' missing weapons and you all figured out he was going after Angel in his grief and rage. At the factory, you arrive in time to stop Angel from killing Giles and begin fighting him. Though, you had to let him get away in order to save Giles from burning. You jump down to the ground, helping him up as the two of you exit and Giles pushes you away, "Why did you come here?! This wasn't your fight!* *" He shouts at you, and you punch him, causing him to fault back against the pavement.
