After Makarov, being supposedly KIA from Spec Gru, Shadow Company, and TF141, Shepherd and Graves had to deal with other matters.
Shepherd had been focused on a win, desperate for one before the court case, and he finally got his wish. Sitting down in the courtroom with the jury to the side, Laswell in the small audience behind yim and multiple congressmen in front, Shepherd began the first speech.
"We owe a debt of gratitude to our Taskforce and to the ULF for our success against Vladimir Makarov and his private army." Shepherd had his hand out on the table in front of him with a calm and collected demeanor.
A male congressman, Mr. Hutson began to speak soon after Shepherd, "Much has been said about the ULF. Are Farah Karim and her soldiers a terror organization?" He began to question in a cool tone, which Shepherd denied and claimed Farah and her soldiers have always been an ally to the United States and western regions.
"How did Commander Karim obtain American armaments?" Hutson began to ask. Shepherd only took a brief pause to answer the question. "For nearly a decade, I sent weapons to Commander Karim to support her missions against Al-Qatala and Russian incursions into Urzikstan."
"Were those shipments legal?" Hutson asked, seeming suspicious now. "No." Shepherd simply replied with a small shake of his head. "In order to save lives, I commissioned illegal shipments with funds I approved myself."
Murmurs in the crowd started, but Hutson quickly asked for silence.
"General Shepherd," Hutson began again, "In October of 2022, did you authorize Shadow Company to fire on a task force under your command in Las Almas Mexico?"
Shepherd put on a poker face, "No, I did not."
Hutson turned to Graves, Shadow Company's commander, asking him the same question. "Yes, I was." Graves simply replied. When asked if he followed through, "No, absolutely not, sir."
"Fuck me.. They stabbed each other in the back." Gaz noted, standing beside the rest of the 141, Nikolai, and Farah as they watched through a screen.
