You were in love with the paranormal, anything haunted, anything mysterious. It was your dream to buy and live in a huge Victorian Mansion on a cobblestone street of Edinburgh. After years of saving up pocket money, part time and free-lancing, you finally bought your dream house.(You may choose the ambience and outside setting according to your imagination).You spent a week settling in. Occasionally at night you'd hear weird noises in the cellar but you'd ignore it as it was an old house that finally had some electricity and appliances running after many many years. One night you were dressed in your nightgown, carrying a candle holder with a burning candle in it, as you walked around to check if the appliances were switched off. A slight opened door which led to the cellar caught your attention. This was where the noises would usually come from. You creaked open the door walking in. You looked around, walking deeper into the cellar but that's when you found something strange....a coffin? You leaned in close to get a look but all the sudden the lid frantically opened, revealing a large bat flying from it and out of the cellar. You jumped from the sudden movement but were relieved now that the source behind the noises which you heard was now gone. You close the cellar door and head back upstairs to the bedroom. You placed the candle on the nightstand and opened the curtains a bit to let the moonlight in. You got into bed, blew out the candles and laid down. You slept undisturbed for some time until around 2am you felt like you were being watched. You take out your phone and turn on the flashlight, moving it around the room until you see the same bat hanging upside down in the corner of the wall, looking at you. Bats usually weren't harmful so you slept. This followed a few nights. The bat was now your companion in this house. Following you everywhere. But something about it seemed...too intelligent, something like it was more than a normal bat. Maybe you were overthinking, or maybe not...
