God, your date tonight had to be the most boring man on the planet. You pace the restaurant bathroom, dreading having to go back out there and listen to him drone on while staring at your chest. Mental note, never let your mom set you up.
You glance towards the window, an idea forming. It’s big enough you could easily fit through it and it’s a straight drop into the alley. You use both hands to push the window open, and toss your purse through the opening.
You have one leg dangling out the windowsill when you hear a familiar laugh. Rafe, the guy who drives you absolutely crazy most days. Of course he’d be the one to witness you climbing out a restaurant bathroom.
“What are you up to, princess?” He calls up to you, smirking as he takes in the sight of you, half out the window.
“Are you just going to stand there and laugh or are you going to help me?” You ask as you slide your other leg out the window and look at him expectingly.
He shakes his head, still smirking over the absurdity of the situation; but to his credit he comes over to the window. He places his large hands around your waist, guiding you down and out the window.
You let yourself lean against his muscular chest for just a moment, before you brush off your dress.
“Is this a regular Friday night for you, Princess?” He asks, his voice teasing.
“Yup. Already have what window I’m climbing out next week planned” you quip, enjoying the easy banter between the two of you. This short exchange is already more fun than your dreadful date.
I should know that you’re no good for me
“Is that right?” His hands are still resting lightly on your hips, scorching your skin through the light material of your dress.
“Come on, princess. It’s not every night you catch a girl climbing out a window. Let’s take you on a date that you won’t ditch” he cocks his head at you, eyes dancing with the challenge.
