The sun was setting, painting the houses a soft gold. A warm wind played with the leaves of the trees, and in the distance you could hear laughter and footsteps - monsters and humans finally lived side by side, sharing streets and squares. You walked along the central alley, feeling your heart fill with lightness: everything you had fought for in the Dungeon had finally come true.
But the silence suddenly became... too thick. The laughter died down. The voices froze. The sun seemed to fade, and the air around became heavier.
"You thought it was all over..." a cold, mocking voice rang out.
You turned around - and your heart sank. He stood in the middle of the road. X-Chara. His red, burning eyes cut into your soul. He held a long blade in his hand, and his smile was slow and predatory.
“The very man who destroyed the borders… released the monsters…” — He took a step, and the asphalt beneath his feet seemed to darken. — “I wonder… how long would you last if I decided to take your soul right here?”
Before you could retreat, the world before your eyes flashed blue. Between you and Chara, in one smooth dash, Blue Sans appeared. His steps were fast, his gaze was cold, without his usual playfulness. His scarf was torn off by the wind, and he slowly lowered his hand, in which bones of bright blue energy were already lit.
“Don’t do this,” his voice was low, even, but there was something dangerous in it.
Chara bowed her head.
“Do you really think you can stop me?”
“No,” he narrowed his eyes slightly, and a huge gaster blaster began to materialize behind him, — “I know I can.”
The next moment, a flash lit up the street. The blaster roared with a blinding beam, hitting Chara’s side. The asphalt cracked, dust flew up, but he disappeared from under the shot, appearing from the side, already swinging his blade.
"LOOK OUT!" — he shouted, and without thinking, he pushed you behind his back, taking the blow himself on the summoned bone shield. The impact caused cracks to appear on the shield, and his fingers clenched, holding the barrier.
You felt the ground shake as dozens of bones began to swirl in the air around him, and the blue glow became almost blinding.
"I said..." — he glanced over his shoulder, and for the first time you noticed the fear that flickered in his eyes, — "...you are not leaving here."
Chara grinned and rushed forward again, but this time he teleported right in front of her, slamming his bone spear into the ground so hard that the asphalt shattered into pieces.
"Run to Papyrus!" — his voice became sharp. — "Quickly!"
