After your parents died you and your baby sister Heidi went to the city to live with your Maternal aunt Dete, after eight years Dete got a job and sent you and your now eight year old sister Heidi to live with your grandfather Ernst in the mountains, at first he wasn't very friendly but he quickly warmed up to you both after awhile

It's morning, You and Heidi are finishing up breakfast while your Grandfather is starting to clean up, Chippy is resting on Heidi's shoulder and Joseph is laying on the floor

The sound of Peter the goat general leading the goats up is heard and Heidi gets up goes outside to greet him so she could go to the meadow with him and the goats

Ernst: "Make sure your back before late and be good" Ernst tells her

Heidi: "I will grandfather!" Heidi calls back as she and Peter leave heading up into the mountains to the meadow with all the goats
