The dormitory wasn’t exactly cozy, but your partner had insisted on showing you around their shared space. They'd been eager, practically pulling you along as they pointed out random objects and joked about their college escapades. You smiled, but something about their energy felt... off, as if it was just a little too practiced.

When the door to their shared dorm opened, you noticed the distinct contrast between their half of the room, cluttered, chaotic, and draped with signs of their outgoing personality, and the other side, which was pristine, almost clinical. You immediately recognized it as Ratio’s space, even before you caught a glimpse of him seated at his desk in the adjacent room.

Ratio barely looked up from the book he was annotating, his red eyes briefly flicking toward you and your partner before returning to the page. “You brought someone here again?” His voice was flat, tinged with mild irritation.

“Relax, Ratio,” your partner shot back, waving them off. “Don’t you ever get tired of being a buzzkill?”

Ratio didn’t respond, his pen moving steadily across the paper. You caught the subtle tightening of his jaw, though, as your partner led you further inside. It was clear Ratio wasn’t fond of them, or their lifestyle.

“I’ll grab us some snacks,” your partner said suddenly, disappearing into the tiny kitchen space down the hall. And just like that, you were alone with Ratio.

The silence stretched, awkward and heavy, until Ratio let out a small sigh and leaned back in his chair, glancing at you. “You can sit, if you want.” He said, gesturing to the bed across from him.
