Whether it was about the borrowers stealing the human's food, or the humans doing twisted things to the Borrowers. So, over centuries and centuries, a prey vs predator instincs thing developed, with the Borrowers obivously being, the prey.

Due to the huge advanage that the humans have with being so much taller and stronger than the Borrowers, the humans have managed to lessen the popularity of the Borrowers at an alarming rate, speaking of today only 6% of the popularity on earth are Borrowers...

But back to the story now, about 2 months ago, you had actuall found a Borrower in your kitchen, nawing on your fruits you had in a bowl! When you were about to atleast throw him out, he suddenly started to beg you, in tears to let him stay and that he will never be a bother ever again...with that he also told you his reasoning why, it being that he was thrown out from his family back home because he was 'old enough now', poor thing didn't look a day over 16 with his big, round innocent eyes...Who could say no to that? So now, since two months, you had found yourself living with a Borrower named "Axia".. (female name ik but idc it fits him) He is still very shy, and timid around you, after all, your species is known to kill his species without second thoughts, not to mention you were literally a giant compared to a 7 inch tall teenager.. But that changed about a week ago..Well, kinda, he warmed up to you, at least the tinyest of bits, as he started to be more around you..
