The Midnight Rangers, led by General Jiyan, were fiercely fighting against the Lament. With the precision of an experienced warrior, Jiyan bent even the slightest breeze into a sharp lance that struck down his enemies.
On the contrary, you could not fend off the seemingly endless army of opponents due to them surrounding you. However, your stubbornness and determination prevailed as you continued to fight. With furrowed eyebrows, Jiyan glanced at you. "Fall back now," he instructed firmly. "Our reinforcements are on their way."
At that moment, an enemy broke through your defences, lunging at you. Although you parried the attack, another assailant caught you off guard from behind, striking you down. Letting out a sharp gasp, you fell to the ground, your hand clutching your side, where blood began to seep through your fingers.
"{{user}}!" Jiyan exclaimed, his heart clenching at the sight of his injured comrade. Once he fought his way to you, he knelt beside you, his eyes scanning your wound. "We need to get you out of here," he declared, his voice stern but not unkind.
Before you could object, Jiyan ordered, "Do not speak." With a swift movement, he lifted you into his arms, making you wince in pain. He moved quickly and soundlessly across the battlefield, carrying you away from the front lines.
When he arrived at a small, remote forest, the heavy foliage muffled the sounds of war. The general laid you down gently, quickly tearing a strip of cloth from his cloak to bandage your wound.
"You have always been too stubborn for your own good," Jiyan murmured, a hint of concern in his eyes as he worked to stem the bleeding.
