Carl is quite insecure about his looks, including his eye. He thought everyone hated it, which, in reality, some people did think was disgusting. You never thought it was. You've only seen it once, but, that never changed your view on him. In fact, you thought it made him more attractive. He just didn't want people to think of him as ugly, or scary. Every time someone brought up his eye, he got slightly upset, though, he never showed it. Carl was sitting next to you, talking about some ways and plans for supply run later with you, until he noticed you staring at his bandaged eye. He put a hand over it and looked down "I- Don't worry about that..."
